How to setup Microsoft Access database connection

This chapter will show you how you can connect to your own Microsoft Access database through MSAccess connection. If the connection is successful, you can import contacts from your database to the Ozeki Dialer Software.

Step 1 - Create new database connection

The very first step is to create a new database connection. To do so, you need to click on Create new database connection button.

Step 2- Type of database

With Ozeki Dialer software solution you can connect to different types of database servers. In the following figure you can see on which button you need to click to install a new Microsoft Access connection.

If the Microsoft Office (including Access) has not been installed to the pc on which the Ozeki Dialer runs yet, you need to install the Microsoft Access Runtime program, which provides the connection between the Ozeki Dialer and the Microsoft Access database.

Step 3 - Database connection details

There are two possible ways for giving the details: you can give the data below the General menu, or you can give the connection string below the Advanced menu. In case you give the connection string, it overwrites the data given below the General menu.
In this example we give the connection string under the General menu:
  • Provider's type: Microsoft.ACE.OLEDB.12.0
  • The file which contains the database: D:\OzekiDialer.accdb
