DOWNLOAD ERROR, INVALID XML TROUBLESHOOTING

This page explains how to shoot the trouble of receiving a 'Download error, invalid xml' message.

If you have downloaded and installed the Ozeki Message Server, and enter your username and password correctly, you may still not be able to log in. You may receive the following error message: Download error, invalid xml (Figure 1).

This may happen if you use a proxy server.

To shoot this trouble, take the following steps (Figure 2):
  • Open the Microsoft Internet Explorer program, and select Internet Settings in the Tools menu
  • Click on the Connections tab to open the Internet Options window
  • Click on the LAN Settings button in this window
  • A 'Local Area Network (LAN) window will open
  • Place a checkmark in the Bypass proxy server for local addresses checkbox and a checkmark in the Use a proxy sever for your LAN checkbox. Then click on the Advanced button.
  • In the Proxy Settings window opened, make sure there is no checkmark in the Use the same proxy server for all protocols checkbox. As a last step, enter 127.0.0.1 in the Do not use proxy server for addresses beginning with: field, and click on OK.
